Say Gay: LOUDER! Casting & Information

CONCEPT

This is a sequel to our Pride-themed show done last year that will feature a series of monologues about the LGBTQIA+ experience along with songs from LGBTQIA+ artists, allies, and icons.

Most of the monologues will be new although we are going to use a handful from last year’s show that will be updated.  This does not necessarily mean that the same people will be doing those pieces as they did last year – we may recast for a new perspective.

The shows will be on June 23 and 25, 2023 and will benefit the First City Pride Center, so there is NO PAY for this production.  I have been assured that we will get much more support in promoting the show this year than we did last year.

Please read the important information, proposed set list, and rehearsal schedule below.  If you are interested in being in the show, please fill out the form.

NOTE: Allies welcome!!

IMPORTANT!

  • Everyone must be present for every rehearsal during show week (generally starting the Sunday or Monday before the show) and must limit absences for rehearsals before that.  I understand that this is a big ask for people with jobs, school, and other commitments, but we already have limited time to put these shows together so we have to maximize what we do have.
  • Everyone must be on time for every rehearsal.  Being late is not only detrimental to the show, it’s inconsiderate of your fellow cast members and crew who did what they needed to do to be on time.
  • Everyone must come prepared.  The small amount of time we have to rehearse together must be supplemented by your own work on your own time working on your lines, lyrics, songs, and characters.
  • Everyone must pitch in to promote the show.  All cast members on paid shows participate in profits, which means the more butts in seats, the more you get paid.  A social media and promotional calendar will be developed for every show moving forward with specific assignments on specific days and platforms.
