Doors Open 1 Hour Before Curtain for the Pre-Show Party!

As a part of the upcoming production of the hit musical “MEL BROOKS’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN,” Savannah Cabaret hosted a charity auction of memorabilia celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the comedy classic film “Young Frankenstein” and the career of comedy legend Mel Brooks.  The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony-winning (EGOT) director, writer, and actor personally signed six copies of a 200-page coffee table book about the making of the film just for our production.  A different item was auctioned every night before each of the twelve (12) performances.

In addition to the Mel Brooks autographed books, Savannah Cabaret auctioned a veritable treasure trove of memorabilia including a copy of the musical’s vocal score autographed by Megan Mullally (of “Will & Grace” fame) who originated the role of Elizabeth on Broadway; an copy of the Broadway playbill signed by Tony-Award winning actress Sutton Foster, who originated the role of Inga; a “Young Frankenstein” promo photo of Teri Garr as Inga, autographed by the actress; a photo of Cloris Leachman as Frau Blucher autographed by the actress; a promotional photo from the movie “Spaceballs” autographed by Mel Brooks; rare lobby card sets from 1974 of photos from “Young Frankenstein;” vintage soundtrack albums of both “Young Frankenstein” and Mel Brooks’ comedy masterpiece “High Anxiety;” and more!

All proceeds from the auctions will benefitted Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit fundraising and grant-making organizations.  Since 1988 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has raised more than $300 million for essential services for people living with HIV/AIDS, struggling with COVID-19, and facing other critical illnesses and humanitarian crises in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and in countries around the world.  In the past year alone, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has provided grants to more than 140 food service and meal delivery organizations in the US; emergency support to Maui fire victim food banks and Israel and Gaza humanitarian organizations; critical support for people affected by the entertainment strikes; and more.
