The award-winning Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” came to Savannah in our first-ever full musical production!

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic 1974 movie, this musical adaptation with a script, music, and lyrics by Mel Brooks tells the story of Dr. Frankenstein’s grandson, Frederick, who is struggling to create his own legacy separate from his infamous family’s name.  Leaving his affection-averse fiance Elizabeth behind, he travels to Transylvania where he meets the hump-backed servant Igor, the buxom assistant Inga, the intimidating house matron Frau Blucher, and a host of angry villagers who both help and hinder his efforts to continue his grandfather’s work in creating his own Monster!

Filled with laugh-out-loud dialogue, including classic quotes and gags from the movie, and tap-your-toes music like “Please Don’t Touch Me,” “Roll in the Hay,” “He Vas My Boyfriend,” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz” this show was a monster-ous good time.

Plus, each night before the show we auctioned off rare Mel Brooks and “Young Frankenstein” memorabilia including copies of a “Making of Young Frankenstein” coffee table book that Mel Brooks personally autographed just for our production.  We raised more than $10,000 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
